A Call to Prayer – A Letter From the Co-Workers in North America (Dec. 2012)

From December 1 through 21, 2012, a special three-week prayer time of the local churches in the Lord’s recovery will take place. We urge as many saints as possible to deliberately separate themselves unto the ministry of prayer during that period of time.

The Lord’s recovery has come to a point where strong and effectual prayers before God’s throne are required. The unprecedented hunger of sinners and Christians who are responding to the high gospel of God’s salvation and the word of His truth, the rapidly declining situation of the world and of religion, the condition of lawlessness and apostasy on the earth, the fierce attack of the evil forces of Satan against the believers and the work of God, the desperate need of the local churches to be built up to have the reality of the Body of Christ, and the undeniable signs of the consummation of the age and of the Lord’s imminent return to bring in the kingdom age all require particular prayer that is Satan-defeating, divine-will-fulfilling, and age-turning in power and impact.

Exactly fifty years ago, in December 1962, Brother Lee and a few brothers prayed steadfastly several hours each day for twenty-one days in Los Angeles at the start of the work of the Lord’s recovery in the Western world. The results of that prayer can be witnessed over the entire earth in the Lord’s recovery today. Such prayer must be continued with greater intensity and scale by us in these days. What would happen if thousands of saints in hundreds of churches around the globe align their will with God’s and respond to this present call to pray as one corporate warrior for the Lord’s present move on earth? Will not the Father’s name be sanctified, His kingdom come, and His will be done sooner as a result of such prayer?

We are issuing a call to all the churches and the saints in the Lord’s recovery, both individually and corporately, to awake and arise, to watch and pray, and to fulfill the greatest ministry of the church of God during the first twenty-one days of December, making them days of prevailing petition and intercession. May the Spirit of grace and supplication be poured out upon us (Zech. 12:10). May the Lord fill us with an unquenchable burden for prayer. May we linger at the incense altar to minister to Him (Acts 13:1-2a). May His victorious blood protect us and His cross operate to subdue our flesh. And may the prevailing prayers of the saints ascend to the heavens with the resurrected and ascended Christ as incense (Rev. 8:3).

Dear brothers and sisters and lovers of Christ, for the sake of God’s interests let us meet at the throne of God to pray in oneness and in harmony, and with faith, earnestness, and perseverance. Let us join one another in prayer to turn the age. Amen.

Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and concerning the work of My hands, command Me.—Isaiah 45:11b

8 Suggested Directions for Prayer

The following points are offered as suggested directions for the prayer of the saints and the churches. These are not meant to be received as a formality or a legality that would limit our prayer in any way. No list of prayer burdens can replace our living contact with the resurrected and ascended Christ, who intercedes on the throne and in our spirit and who alone can supply us with the genuine burden and utterance for our prayer (Rom. 8:26, 34; Heb. 7:25).

1. The increase and spread of the testimony of the Lord’s recovery to all the nations and by all the nations to fulfill the Lord’s prophecy in Matthew 24:14 concerning the announcing of the gospel of the kingdom for the consummation of this age.

2. The worldwide propagation of the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee through various media to gain the seeking people in all the languages, to perfect the believers for their growth in life unto maturity, to produce the one new man, and to prepare the bride of Christ for His coming.

3. The binding of the powers of darkness that are behind all kinds of oppositions from all religions, all human organizations, and all worldly powers for the casting down of Satan and the ushering in of the kingdom of God.

4. The raising up of the next generation of saints to overcome sin, the world, the flesh, and the self and who are constituted with the divine life and the divine truth, so that the move of God may continue on the earth for the accomplishment of His divine economy.

5. The aspiration for, the realization of, and the continuation of the new revival among all the saints in the Lord’s recovery through the pursuit of the high peak truths, the practice of the God-man living, and the universal shepherding by all the believers.

6. The vitalization of all the saints and all the churches in the Lord’s recovery through the exercise and practice of all the aspects of the God-ordained way to become the living testimony of Jesus in all the localities for an anti-testimony to the degradation around us.

7. The continuation of the ministry of prayer in all the churches for the intercession concerning the world situation and the Lord’s move in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Australasia, and Israel, for the consummation of this age.

8. The building up of the local churches for the building up of the organic Body of Christ through the growth in life of all the saints unto maturity to consummate the New Jerusalem as the eternal, corporate expression of the processed and consummated Triune God.

Along with our individual prayer, we can also all pray in the following ways:

1. Companion prayer
2. Church prayer
3. Half-day prayer
4. Morning watch prayer
5. Prayer via the telephone, internet, and Skype prayer
6. Prayer with fasting
7. 24 hour watch-hour prayer

May the Lord gain the prayer which meets His need during this time. May all the prayer be towards the accomplishment of his will and for the furthering of His economy in Christ, the church, and His kingdom!

    1. The answer you are seeking is found in the Holy Bible in the gospel of Luke, chapter 16, verses 19-31. This is not a parable because it mentions real people (Abraham and Lazarus) and a real place in the center of the earth called Hades. Hades has two sections, one is pleasant, where those who love the Lord are (the saints) and the other section is one of torment where the rich man and all the perished sinners go. I have a lot more scripture references and footnotes that would be very helpful to you. They are taken from my Recovery Version Bible. But I would like to know why you ask and would be glad to talk w/you over the phone to explain the answer more clearly. It is a question worth asking.

  1. Amen Saints, the Great Wheel of His Economy MUST move, therefore we MUST pray. Let us be those who cooperate with The Lord by entering in this ministry of prayer.

  2. Amen and amen! May this time of prayer release on earth by Your body what has already been released in the heavens for each and every one of Your dear members, for the churches as Your shining lampstands in this dark age, and for Your sovereign hand over all the world situation that men would be saved from the vine of the Earth into the true vine to live a life that really fulfills the meaning of their human existence and Your eternal purpose (Rev. 4:11).

Let us arise and watch oh Christian brothers!

  3. Amen! Conflict today is fierce, the call of the Lord is for us to pray. There is such a battle when we come to pray, but we must pray with perseverance, and stand with the Lord!May our praying spirit be strengthened!

  4. Amen! Lord Jesus~ ~~ I consecrate myself to this time prayer with the saints in the Lord’s recovery all over the globe to carry out the will of God to spread the gospel of the kingdom of God, and consummate this age, get back the Lord as our bridegroom! Amen

  5. Amen. Keep us praying steadfastly Lord – may we co-operate with You, work with You, live to You – for the carrying out of Your eternal economy

  6. This is indeed very timely and needed. I was recently burdened to share with a brother concerning the need to address the matter of the corporate prayer meeting in our locality. So few of us can attend and yet surely we need the corporate prayer in addition to our individual prayer. Now the brothers have exhorted us to utilise both aspects for the Lord’s move today. May these 21 days cause us to pray in one accord concerning these points raised and revitalise us for the Lord’s recovery, caring for His interest on earth.

  7. O Lord, may we really give you the ground for You to work Yourself into us that we may be enlivened to carry out Your heart’s desire in this end times.

  8. Amen. for the Lord’s recovery, prayer is the way, individually and corporately.
Luke 1:16-17). “to prepare for the Lord a people made ready” to prepare
the way of the Lord by changing people’s minds, turning their
minds toward the Lord and making their hearts right, thus
causing every part of their hearts to be straightened by the
Lord through repentance so that the Man-Savior could enter
into them to be their life and take possession of them.

  9. It is so comforting to know that brothers all over the world are suffering the same sufferings and battle the same battles we do.
But it is even more comforting and strengthening to have such call go out to all saints over all the earth, knowing that we all fight in prayer for the same cause. May this prayer in one accord break barriers, dispel the power of darkness, and afford the Lord a way to enter areas where He long has desired to enter in.

  10. Amen, Lord Jesus!!! Fulfill your heart desire in us all, rise up saint, pray in the Lord who is pray in us all the time for God’s will and to the Father, do not stop seek the Lord and do not stop His flowing in these last days of this age!!! Pray, fast, watch, in the Lord, let your heart be one with the Lord Jesus!!! Let the Lord overcome you and all around you!!! Lord Jesus is Eternal Victor!!

  11. Amen! I thoroughly enjoyed this. Some things that I pray are:
1)For the Lord Jesus to cover us with His precious blood
    2) For the Lord Jesus to wash us in the water of His Spirit & His Word
    3) For us to eat of the Lord Jesus as the Bread of Presence
    4) For the Lord Jesus to dispense His sevenfold intensified Spirit into the members of the universal Body of Christ. Dispense His Spirit of Jehovah, Spirit of counsel, Spirit of knowledge, Spirit of wisdom, Spirit of understanding, Spirit of godly fear, and Spirit of might.
    5) For us to partake of the ascended and resurrected Christ. For the Lord Jesus to accept our incense offerings
    6) For the One who is enthroned between the cherubim to grant us His Grace.
    7) For the dispensing of His resurrection life.
    8) Thanking Him for being the testimony of who God is.
9)Thanking Him for being Heavenly Manna.
There’s more, but superabounding grace to you from Him who was, who is, and who is coming. Amen.

  12. Amen. Lord, work in us. Strengthen us, rise us up to be able to stand before You as living testimonies for the building up of Your Body and for the fulfillment of Your desire, Your eternal purpose.

  13. Oh Lord Jesus! We trust in your precious blood. May you cover us, and strengthen us so we could stand firm before you. Cause the saints to come into your Word everyday, taking you as our life, life supply and everything. We just look away unto you.

  14. O Lord Jesus ! We love You ! We allow You to work into us so that You may have opportunity to bring this age to an end.
Lord Jesus, wash us and protect us by Your blood in the godless age and during this darkest moment.
Make us men of prayer ! and our pray will be “Come Lord Jesus!””Lord Jesus Come!”

  15. I have been feeling the enemy’s attack on my prayer life recently. Now I know why! He is fighting back against the prayer of the one new man. May we all be diligent and persevere to stay in prayer for the Lord’s move. May He gain what He’s after! Amen, come Lord Jesus!

  16. Oh Lord Jesus don’t let us do anything without prayer. Oh may we learn not to trust in anything that we can do for you. Let us deny ourselves and trust you in all things. Grow in us each day through your mercy and grace.. amen!!!
