Submitted by: B.W. and N.W. who migrated from Palo Alto, CA to Memphis, TN in 2000 to hold a job.
What is the spiritual highlight of your migration?
We knew that we had to take care of practical things, e.g. job, but placed the Lord’s heart and the Spirit’s move as the priority. I had several attractive job offers in prestigious places, but in the end went to a place that was outwardly less desirable but full of the Lord’s anointing, which gave us peace and joy in our spirit. The Lord ended up providing everything we needed, but most of all provided a rich church life environment for our growth and perfecting, until we migrated the next time.
Is there anything else you would like to explain or share?
My children have learned that we are not rooted to this earth. There is nowhere that we would consider our permanent home. Where to live, die, and are buried is not as important as living a life that is fully given to the Lord and for your being to be made available to the Lord. This is entirely the Lord’s mercy.
In 2008 we again migrated to Jacksonville, FL. It was hard to leave Memphis and the dear saints and come to a different environment. But “where Jesus is, my joy is there,” and I am happy to be where I am in Christ and in the church, His Body.
