You know, I am always very impressed with Daniel. The person, not the book in the Bible. He understood from reading the scriptures what was going on in the world around him and how it translated into God’s history and His economy. Because he understood this, he was able to conduct himself as one fully one with the administrating God in the heavens. Today we have a more complete view and understanding the scriptures, both thanks to Daniel and also the ministry of the age. Today we need to be these Daniels who understand by means of the scriptures and have our windows open toward Jerusalem that we may offer up supplications on behalf of God’s people so that He can fulfill the remaining prophecies to close the age and bring in the age of eternal righteousness.
Now we come to the most precious portion. Daniel chapter 9 reveals to us the lines of demarcation throughout the ages. The vision of the 70 weeks gives us the key to understand the prophecies of the Bible. Daniel was able to obtain this vision because of his person. His supplications were all for God’s interest. Like Daniel, we too should pray for the Lord’s word to be fulfilled. This means, we are those who pray For His people, His righteousness, and His city. I must say, in my personal experience, each prayer time for the Lord’s interest has brought blessing. Praise the Lord!!!
First, I enjoyed Daniel 9:24- “Seventy weeks are apportioned for your people and for your holy city, to close the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make propitiation for iniquity, and to bring in the righteousness of the ages, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.”
Second, I am so impressed with the preciseness of the prophecy of the 70 weeks. The Lord is really managing the world situation and the governments.
The 7 weeks of 49 years- from the issuing of the decree to restore Jerusalem (536 BC) to the completion of the rebuilding.
The 62 weeks of 434 years- from the completion of the rebuilding of Jerusalem to the cutting off of the Messiah.
The 1 week of 7 years- years of the great tribulation
Then there will be the sealing up of vision and prophet because everything will be fulfilled!
