Remembering Our Brother Andrew Yu

A good name is better than precious ointment, / And the day of death, than the day of one’s birth. It is better to go to the house of mourning / Than to go to the house of feasting, / Because that is the end of every man, / And the living takes it to heart. – Eccl. 7:1-2

Our beloved and faithful brother Andrew Yu departed to be with the Lord on December 20, 2020. The church in Anaheim will host an online memorial meeting for our brother on January 8, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. PST. To stream this online memorial, click on the link: memorial-meeting.org; the meeting will automatically begin at 5:00 pm. You can select English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Spanish. This link will continue to be active following the initial streaming for any who were not able to view it at the scheduled time.

Starting around 2007, our brother Andrew began releasing a particular burden for the working saints (or more generally those in their 20’s-40’s) in North America and oversaw the creation of LivingtoHim.com as a channel and forum to supply and activate our generation. He has spoken extensively to us over the past decade, although he became increasingly limited in recent years due to his health conditions.

As part of our remembering of our brother’s burden for us, we are releasing a new podcast series which will include many excerpts of his speaking to our generation (The Living to Him Podcast). We will also release a recent fellowship from November 2020 where brother Andrew shared his burden for our generation.

We miss our brother dearly but we thank and worship the Lord for having given us such a pattern. May we as “the living” take his pattern to heart (Eccl. 7:2) and in turn hold a pattern of the healthy words that we have heard from our brother, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus (2 Tim. 1:13).
