Intercession

Submitted by: B. Steele (Charlotte, NC)

1 Timothy 2:1 ” I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men.” Footnote 1-2 says “The Greek word denotes an approaching of God in a personal and confiding manner, i.e., an intervening, an interfering, before God in others’ affairs for their benefit.” We are experiencing this footnote in our prayers in coordination for the campus in our locality. We are learning to pray specific prayers, interceding for saints and new ones in a personal and confiding manner. Through our prayer, we are intervening, even interfering before God in others’ affairs for their benefit. This is one of the intrinsic functions of a vital group. We have seen very specific answers to these kinds of intercessions. Praise the Lord for His raising up of these groups to pray! Much grace be with all the 610 praying groups as of November 14, 2009! May the Lord gain 390 more before the end of this year!
